About Steinhúsið
Steinhúsið is the first concrete building in Hólmavík, built in 1911. The house has been refurbished in an old fashioned style and has been returned to a town jewel. Hólmavík is a small village in the Northwest. The house has three apartments with separate entrances. The apartments offer accommodation with made beds. Old items found in the house during the improvements is used for decoration so the story will be visible for the visitors. Emphasis is also placed on each room is warm and personalized décor. This is a beautiful house with an interesting story and a good soul.
Steinhúsið is divided into the main building, built 1911, and the add-on, built
1928. The main building has 5 double/twin rooms on the upper floor along a
small restroom and large balcony. Two large living rooms, a spaceous bathroom
and a well equipped kitchen are on the lower floor. The add-on has a small but cozy one bedroom apartment
(Apartment 1) with good cooking facilities, a bathroom with a shower and a double bed, all private.
The add-on basement has a cosy apartment (Apartment 2) with cooking facilities and a bathroom with a bathtub, also all private.
